Remove old Windows update files

You can safely remove old Windows update files from your C drive using built-in tools like Disk Cleanup, Storage Sense, or by manually clearing the update cache folder. This frees up space without affecting your personal files, though it prevents rolling back to older Windows versions.**

## 🛠️ Methods to Remove Old Windows Update Files

### 1. **Disk Cleanup**
- Open **Start Menu** → search **Disk Cleanup** → run it.

- Select **C drive** → click **Clean up system files**.

- Check **Windows Update Cleanup** (and optionally **Delivery Optimization Files**).

- Click **OK** → **Delete Files**.

- This is the most reliable method for Windows 10/11.

### 2. **Storage Sense / Temporary Files**

- Go to **Settings → System → Storage → Temporary files**.

- Select **Windows Update Cleanup** and **Delivery Optimization Files**.

- Click **Remove files**.

- Works best on Windows 11 and newer builds of Windows 10.

### 3. **Manual Cache Deletion**

- Press `Win + R`, type `services.msc`, stop **Windows Update service**.

- Navigate to `C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\` folder.
- Delete all files inside.

- Restart the **Windows Update service**.

- This forces Windows to re-download updates fresh. [How-To Geek](https://www.howtogeek.com/how-to-clear-your-update-cache-on-windows-11-and-10/)

### 4. **Command Prompt / PowerShell**

Run as Administrator and use commands like:
```cmd
net stop wuauserv
del /f /s /q %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\*
net start wuauserv
```
Or in PowerShell:
```powershell
Delete-DeliveryOptimizationCache -Force
```

## ⚠️ Important Notes

- **Safe to delete**: These files are temporary and won’t harm your system. [Help Desk Geek]

- **Rollback limitation**: Removing them means you cannot revert to a previous Windows version.

- **Best time to clean**: When storage is low or updates fail to install.

- **Space savings**: Can free several GB depending on update history.

## 📊 Comparison of Methods

| **Method** | Ease of Use | Space Freed | Risk Level |

|------------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
| **Disk Cleanup** | Very easy | High | Safe |

| **Storage Sense** | Easy | Medium | Safe |

| **Manual Cache Deletion** | Moderate | High | Safe if careful |
| **Command Prompt/PowerShell** | Advanced | High | Safe for experienced users |

## ✅ Recommendation for You Since you’re likely on **Windows 10 or 11**, the **Disk Cleanup** method is the simplest and safest. If you want automation, enable **Storage Sense** to clear update files regularly.

Can I verify more than 2 LinkedIn account by the same identity?

You can only have one verified LinkedIn personal account because LinkedIn's official rule is one person, one profile. If you try to keep more than one verified account, LinkedIn might stop or delete them. The only legal way to manage multiple accounts is through LinkedIn Business Manager for company pages and ad accounts.

Why Only One Verified Account Is Allowed

LinkedIn's User Agreement says each person can have just one personal profile.

Having duplicate accounts breaks the rules.

Verification Badges: LinkedIn gives badges for identity, workplace, and education to show you're real.

These badges are connected to one personal profile only.

Detection Systems: LinkedIn watches your IP address, device information, and how you log in to find out if you're using multiple accounts.

What Happens If You Try

Suspension Risk: Having duplicate accounts can lead to being limited or banned for good.

Data Loss: If you combine accounts, only your connections and email address move over.

Your endorsements, recommendations, and posts will be lost.

No Multi-Verification: You can't have verification badges on more than one personal account.

Legitimate Alternatives

LinkedIn Business Manager: This lets you run multiple company pages, ad accounts, and manage partners properly.

Company Pages: You can make as many business pages as you want, but they all have to be linked to your one verified profile.

Account Merge: If you made duplicate profiles by accident, LinkedIn lets you merge them.

But you’ll lose some information.

Check LinkedIn policy

Know that LinkedIn allows only one personal account per person.
